On my recent trip to Mexico, I visited the carnitas capital of the world – Quiroga, Michoacán! So, of course, this time on ABC‘s The Chew, I had to share my perfected recipe for carnitas. I made Carnitas Tacos with Daphne Oz, and we mixed up some Salsa Verde Cruda to top them.

I had so much fun being a part of the Mexican Fiesta on ABC‘s The Chew! I cooked a hearty Aztec Chicken Casserole with Mario Batali and followed it up with my Spinning Top cocktail to “get you drunk or dizzily in love.”

I made Scrambled Egg Packets with Black Bean Sauce for breakfast this morning on the Better Show with host JD Roberto! We started by cooking black beans from the pot, or frijoles de olla, to make the sauce.  You can watch the first segment right here…

In the second segment, we cook the eggs, wrap them in warm tortillas, and top them with the bean sauce, cream, and cheese. I also give JD a few tips like how to give your tortillas more humpf! Finish watching here…

It was a great morning on the Today Show making and eating Molletes! Natalie Morales helped me mix up some traditional Pico de Gallo to top the molletes; we also had an array of tasty toppings, like chorizo, bacon and sauteed mushrooms to choose from. Lish from their amazing cooking team had the fantastic idea to top one off with a fried egg to make a delicious breakfast mollete.

While much has been made of Mexico’s influence on American cuisine, this session aims to take a creative look at its converse. Sampling iconic dishes that represent the evolution and diversity of Mexican cooking in the US (Tex-Mex combo platter, anyone?), I cross the country for the best in Mex-American cuisine, from Los Angeles Taco Truck Style Tacos Acorazados to Modern Mexican dishes a la New York.
