Cooking demonstration and tasting dinner at the Mexican Cultural Institute.
It is no secret that Cinco de Mayo is a much bigger celebration in the US than in Mexico. This class will explore how and why the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, marking its Sesquicentennial in 2012, has become a celebratory occasion in the US and will feature a distinct menu to commemorate the anniversary of a truly transnational celebration.
